Djembe Workshop

Today, the Big Art People took a break from their computer screens to introduce 30 children at All Saints' School Alrewas to the world of African djembe drums. The kids and the Big Artists had loads of fun, and will hopefully be returning to the school soon.

In the meantime though there is a new website to be designed. It's oh so nearly ready!

Indian Peacock in Elworth

This wonderful beastie (a not-too-shabby 6ftx9ft) was made by the 279 children of Elworth CE Primary School in Cheshire over two days. The school explored all that is Indian during their Taste of India program, and they called in the Big Art People to help them realize this giant collage of India's national bird. As well as art the children partook in a spot of Indian dancing and had a go at making some super-sweet coconut barfi!

The Big Art People hit the papers!

Little bit late on this one, but our Monster Mosaic project at Amington Heath in November was featured in a local paper! Unfortunately they forgot to mention Tim... Still there's some wicked pictures!

Snow Day!

You may have noticed the large amount of snow over the last couple of days. We certainly did, and we decided the only thing to do was build a snowman. A big one.

So we called up our friends Matt, Ian and Harvey and set to work.

The result is this towering monster, a sizeable 7 ft tall, pictured here with Jim (the bearded pensive one) and Tim (grinning like an idiot).

Suggestions for names on a postcard please! (or alternatively just post a comment below)

Pebble Mosaic in Southfields

Just thought I'd post a quick taster of what the Big Art People are up to in Coventry. It's a big tiger's face made out of pebbles! Isn't he gorgeous?

We're not quite finished yet, but rest assured that there will be more lovely piccies up as soon as we are.
